New and exciting?...

Pet peeve #1: Cigarette smokers that just toss their butts about.

Pet peeve #2: The increasingly popular greeting phrase "Anything new and exciting with you?"

As soon as I'm asked this my brain basically farts as it attempts to think of something "exciting" to share only to discover that, no, there's nothing new or exciting in my life. But that just doesn't feel like an appropriate answer. And realizing there is nothing new or exciting in my life is kind of depressing. > Not to say I'm down on life. I'm generally happy, excited to begin each day and am thankful for the life I lead.

But what happened to simply asking, "how are you?" Or, "how is life treating you these days?" These questions are open ended and offer the opportunity to share new and exciting elements of my life if I feel possessed to do so.

  3. Other than changing the color of your blog, anything new and exciting happening with you?

  5. It's a loaded question. Basically trying to find out what work you are doing, who you are dating, and if you have moved, without having to ask directly. I never know how to answer that question, because the moment it is asked, I forget about all the new and exciting things that are going on, and just answer "nothing much". :)
