I've had spiders in my bed. When I lived in North Carolina there were the real no-seeum bedbugs. This is the bug I awoke to this morning. It's actually a Western conifer seed bug (Leptoglossus occidentalis). While this is a common bug it is rarely seen for it spends the majority of it's life in tree canopies. I consider myself lucky to be witness to this beautiful beetle in my bed and all.
You're incredible. Most people would hit the roof if they saw a bug like that in their bed. Shortly after they would either leave the room wearing whatever they were wearing in be, or the bug would be squashed into oblivian. You on the other hand grab your camera. Guess that's what makes you special. :^)
ReplyDeleteSo, miss environmentalist, you left out a crucial bit of info in your blog. What was the fate of your "beautiful bedbug"? Did you arrange for it to be returned to its natural habitat in the tree canopy? If so, by what means did you transport it? "Twas a good picture, but don't think I would have been as fond of it having found it in my bed.
